Billing & Reconciliation
Overview
This document provides an overview of the various billing and reconciliation processes at Cloudmore, such as the General Billing Report, Microsoft Billing Report, Azure Consumption Usage, and Manual Billing Lines.
Billing cycles
Cloudmore supports both quantity and consumption (metered) based subscriptions. The billing cycles are completely different for the two.
Quantity-based billing cycles
With quantity-based billing, you pay in advance for the upcoming period. For example, if you’re billed on January 25th, that payment covers the period from January 25th to February 24th. This means you're always paying ahead for future usage.

Consumption-based billing cycle
With the consumption-based billing cycle, you're charged for the usage from the previous billing period. For example, if the billing date is February 25, the charges will cover usage from January 26 to February 25. So, if a subscription starts on January 10, the first bill won’t be issued until February 25, since that’s when the first full billing cycle ends.

General Billing Report
The General Billing Report in Cloudmore provides a detailed summary of billing information based on the latest usage and pricing data. It helps you track and manage costs across different customers or organization groups. This is the main tool for cost tracking and will continue to receive the most updates and new features.
For more information, refer to the General Billing Report.
Microsoft Billing Report
The Microsoft Billing Report displays billing data based on Microsoft invoices. It includes both pricing rules and detailed invoice information in the exported file.
For more information, refer to the Microsoft Billing Report.
Manual Billing Lines
Manual Billing Lines allow brokers to manually enter billing data from external sources into Cloudmore. These entries can be created for either the broker or a specific organization and can be linked to a service, product, or subscription. They are commonly used for small billing adjustments, discounts, and surcharges.
For more information, refer to the Manual Billing Lines.
Azure Consumption Usage
The Azure Consumption Usage Report provides a summary of how your organization is using Azure services. It includes details such as which resources were used, how much was consumed, and the associated costs. This helps you monitor spending, manage budgets, and make informed decisions.
For more information, refer to the Azure Consumption Usage.
Monthly Billing Check Routine
The Monthly Billing Check Routine guides Cloudmore brokers through the process of reviewing and verifying billing data each month. It involves exporting billing data, importing it into the Monthly Billing Check Tool, and reviewing the results. This helps identify margin discrepancies, pricing anomalies, and potential issues, especially with Microsoft services, where billing APIs may sometimes produce unexpected results.
